Posting Your Film on your Free Filmmakers Channel Site:Â Although the process for posting your film on your site is mostly the same as it is for posting your film on The Filmmakers Channel, channel, there are some very, very important differences. Here’s the highlights. Your free site is a WordPress site as is The Filmmakers Channel and you’ll create a WordPress post for your film just like on The Filmmakers Channel the key difference is how you set up your categories. For The Filmmakers Channel, channel site categories are somewhat obvious; documentaries, comedies, etc. However since your site will likely not have an aggregation of films (though we hope you have lots of them at some point) you will need to put some thought into how you categorize. You’ll want to be more creative then just creating a category called ‘ movie ‘ as that is not very Google friendly. So be prepared to put some creative energy into what you think your categories for your entire blog ought to be including for your film.
Picking Your WordPress Theme
Once your site is setup you can login and pick a Word Press theme. This video will demonstrate how to access your site in a way that conveniently also puts you in a place where you can manage your site and your film. Cool! Huh? Well I digress. Anyway, picking and activating a theme is easy. Now you’re going to be wondering (maybe) why we don’t have more themes available and the reason is that we want to produce videos to help you customize each without suffering technical consternation (sounds like a medical condition). Anyway, what we really recommend if you have the budget is to let us customize for you our Film Theme which is what this site is based and built especially for film and video. The great thing about this theme is that we put it together so it can be customized easily and for very little cost (about $250).
Website Setup
Fill out the form below once you have registered your domain and you have configured your “A” record. If you haven’t configured your “A” record then your website will reside at a third level, or what is known as a sub domain. This means your site will be at http://yoursite.thefilmmakerschannel.com. Once you’ve set your “A” record we’ll map your domain for you so your site resides at http://yoursite.com. So, in the interest of efficiency set up your “A” record first. If you haven’t done so or need a refresher, here’s a link to the video about how to set up your “A” record.
